I sculpt animals because they are beings with presence, personality, and a quiet wisdom that reconnects us to the natural world. Animals bring joy, and through sculpture, I explore their form, function, and individuality. My process begins with reading ethological studies, followed by anatomical and physiological research. I draw to understand gesture-seeking poses that suggest awareness, curiosity, or stillness. I'm not interested in merely replicating something alive; the sculpture itself must feel alive. Each piece is a search for presence-an invitation to feel connection, not just observe it. I'm especially drawn to public art because it introduces sculpture to a broader audience-people of all ages and backgrounds, not just art collectors-and has the power to bring joy, curiosity, and reflection into everyday life.
